Audio User Study

Welcome to the Audio User Study.

This study explores different ways to convey information about events on a whiteboard through sound.

How the study works

  1. Listen to the different audio variants for each scenario.
  2. You can listen to a variant more than once if needed.
  3. Then decide which variant you liked best.
  4. You can then select the variant you would prefer to use next.
  5. Finally, write down what you noticed or what could be improved.

Important notes

  • If you cannot hear any sound, wait briefly and press the button again. If it still does not work, close the page and reopen it.
  • Please use headphones if possible.
  • Complete the study in a quiet place if possible.
  • There are no right or wrong answers.
  • Rate the audio variants based on your personal impression.

About you

The following information is used only to compare the study results across different groups of people.

The participant ID is assigned automatically and anonymously.

Which age group do you belong to?
How would you describe your vision?

User enters the room

Here you can listen to different audio concepts for entering the digital whiteboard. Listen to each version and think about how it feels and how well it fits the experience. Which one do you like best? Vote for your favorite! You can also leave comments below and share your thoughts, preferences, or suggestions.

Match sounds to descriptions

Play each sound as often as you need. Then match each sound number to the description that best represents it.

If you are unsure, you may assign the same sound to more than one description.

Final tests

The following tests combine several events. Listen carefully to each test and then write down what you think happened.

Test 1 – Recognition of object

Evaluation

Question Very difficult Rather difficult Partly / partly Rather easy Very easy
How easy was it for you to follow the audio?
How easy was it for you to tell the different sounds apart?
How easy was it for you to remember the information from the audio?
Which information could you recognize?

You can select multiple options.

Final Test 2 – Whiteboard without instruments

A user works on the whiteboard. Various actions are performed.
